Being a firefighter means that my physical fitness is crucial not only to my own health, but to the lives of others. Fighting a fire without being physically fit is not only extremely difficult, but also unsafe. I love my job and always want to take care of myself so that I can serve the community to the best of my abilities. When I found CrossFit, I found a fitness program that not only was something completely different from I had done in the past, but it transferred to everyday life; for me specifically being a firefighter. CrossFit is about constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity. It keeps it exciting. I love being able to give back to others and becoming a Level 1 CrossFit Trainer gave me that opportunity. I am enjoying not only continuing as an athlete, but now coaching others on their journey of health and fitness.
